AP Networking is a College Board AP Career Kickstart course. It becomes available nationally in the 2027-28 school year, with a third and final pilot running in 2026-27. Students work through four units that scale outward from a single device to the global internet.
The framework moves from one device, to a shared home or small office network, to a segmented multi-device network, to the internet itself.
Connect and Configure, Secure, Troubleshoot, and Collaborate are practiced in every unit rather than taught once and set aside.
Answers are expected to rest on command output, addressing, logs, and configuration details rather than on definitions alone.

College Board offers a credential to students who take a yearlong AP Networking course and earn a qualifying score on the exam. The qualifying score has not been published.
