Parallel Lines and Transversals
When parallel lines are cut by a transversal, corresponding and alternate interior angles are congruent; same-side interior angles are supplementary. The converses can prove lines parallel.

Constructions
A compass preserves distances and a straightedge draws lines through constructed points. The perpendicular bisector consists of points equidistant from the endpoints; an angle bisector consists of interior points equidistant from the two sides.
